The Week in Review

The top five stories from the previous week in North Druid Hills-Briarcliff Patch.

  1. Anti-Walmart Attorney: 'This Is a War for Your Community': A couple hundred people showed up to Good Growth DeKalb's forum last week. It'll be interesting to see what the group's next move will be after hiring attorneys in the case to stop Walmart from opening in North Decatur.
  2. State Rep. Says Cell Towers Could Pose Threat to Children: It's important to note that nothing Rep. Drenner is doing right now will stop cell phone towers the DeKalb County School System has already contractually allowed T-Mobile to build. But she could stop future towers, she says.
  3. Anti-Walmart Group Hires Attorneys to Investigate Suit Against Retailer: This ran before our No. 1 story, but it includes some details about Good Growth DeKalb's new attorneys and how they've fought the international retailer before.
  4. Lakeside Lacrosse Team Wins Inaugural Match: Good to see the Vikings lax team win their first match. We hope to have more coverage of them this season.
  5. Police Respond to Burglaries in Henderson Mill Area: More of our continued crime coverage through the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area. Lock your doors.
