The Week in Review

The top five stories from the previous week in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area.

  1. Anti-Walmart Group: We've Raised $4K for Legal Fight: We must admit: This surprised us. It'll be interesting to see how this story progresses and what influence Good Growth DeKalb will have on this development in Suburban Plaza.
  2. Coyotes Are 'Here to Stay,' Trapper Tells Concerned Residents: Continued coverage of coyotes in the North Druid Hills area. If it involves coyotes, Patch is all over it. That said, there doesn't seem to be a big solution for people concerned about the presence of these animals.
  3. Immaculate Heart of Mary Student Named Profoundly Gifted Scholar: A student at is doing really, really well. Good news for that school.
  4. Residents Should Clean Up Before Protesting Walmart: A letter to the editor that riled some and confused others, but I hoped it would start a conversation. Mostly, that conversation has raged on in the comments section of our No. 1 story.
  5. Crime Blotter, Jan. 19-25: A fun little story about two kids who tried to ditch a cab fare and how thinks just got progressively worse from there.
