Bike Maintenance & Safety w/ABC

Nothing could be more self-reliant and sustainable than getting around by bike, but it’s easy to be intimidated when you’re just getting started. This course is the perfect introduction for people interested in using their bicycles on the road more regularly for transportation. It will consist of a bicycle safety/skills course taught by a League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructor and a commuter oriented maintenance course taught by a professional bike mechanic.

The class will be very hands on, as participants are encouraged to bring their own bicycles in order to practice the lessons taught in the course (bike handling skills and drills, changing a flat tire, etc.) You’ll also become proficient in adjusting brakes, cleaning and lubricating chains and identifying bicycle repair issues in order to keep your bike working optimally between professional tune ups. It will also help you increase the longevity of your bike’s components in order to stay safe and save money.

**Stick around after class for the Ponce City Market Food Truck Fest!**
