Bernard LaFayette Jr., a civil rights leader alongside Martin Luther King Jr. in the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), will share his experiences and discuss his new memoir "In Peace and Freedom: My Journey in Selma" at this event. An expert in nonviolent direct action, which was essential to the civil rights movement, LaFayette will be hosted in conversation by Carol Anderson, associate professor of African American Studies.
