2012 ULI Atlanta Awards for Excellence Dinner
ATLANTA – July 16, 2012 – For the past 18 years, ULI Atlanta has recognized real estate developments that exemplify its mission of providing leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities. ULI Atlanta is proud to announce the 2012 Finalists for its Awards for Excellence are G. Wayne Clough Learning Commons, Gateway Center, Maynard Jackson International Terminal and The Edge.
From these four Finalists, ULI Atlanta will announce the sought-after “Development of Excellence” award winner on the evening of Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Atlanta History Center.
“Congratulations to the finalists for this prestigious honor,” said Jeff DuFresne, ULI executive director. “The competition for the Development of Excellence Award is very close this year, and it will be exciting to see who receives the award.”

Other lifetime achievement awards to be celebrated are the Frank Carter Community Achievement Award and the Dan & Tally Sweat Community Leadership Award. This year’s Frank Carter winner is Ray Weeks, chairman of Weeks Robinson properties and former chair of the Beltline Partnership, Clean Water Initiative, Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism Board and the Council for Quality Growth. And this year’s Dan & Tally Sweat winner is Ed McBrayer, co-founder and executive director of the PATH Foundation. PATH now has 3500 members and has raised more than $420 million from public and private sources.
This year’s ULI Awards Dinner will be produced by Joe Morley, co-executive producer of the Sundance Award winning and Academy Award nominated film Super Size Me. Most recently, he was co-executive producer of Anywhere USA, which won a Special Jury Prize for Drama at the Sundance Film Festival.
