Great American Clean Up

Please participate in the Great American Clean Up by volunteering at the Tuckher Nature Preserve located across the street from WalMart on Lawrenceville Highway.

If you haven't been there, you're in for a real treat. Not one year ago, the woods were impassable, and there was no where to sit and enjoy a picnic lunch. Now there is a beautiful winding trail through the preserve to a loop where an outdoor classroom is planned and new benches and a picnic table have been installed, with another table coming soon.

The county will be cutting up an enormous fallen tree into seats which will be wheelbarrowed down the path to the outdoor classroom. You will also be removing invasive plants and installing another bench.

Please bring:
Loppers, Shovels, Gardening tools, Gloves, Wheel barrows, and water bottles. Please wear: Long sleeves and pants, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and poison ivy protection.

There will be breakfast foods including Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits, juice, coffee and water as a thank you for your hard work and sweat equity. Please spread the word and tell your neighbors, organizations, students, and friends about this cleanup project, as a lot of help is needed.

Park at the Tucker Cofer Library at 5234 Lavista Rd and walk the 1 block up Lawrenceville Hwy to the Preserve, or park at WalMart and cross the street at the cross walk by the police precinct.
