BJ’s Charitable Foundation recently donated $20,000 to Atlanta-area organizations – including two operating in DeKalb County -- to support non-profits that provide aid for hunger prevention, education, self-sufficiency and healthcare.
This is BJ’s Charitable Foundation’s fifth year donating to Our House, Inc. in Decatur, according to a news release. The foundation has donated a total of $30,000 over the years to supply diapers, cleaning supplies, training supplies, snacks, MARTA cards and emergency assistance for the Family Advocacy and Support Program.
Area donations include:
- Our House, Inc., Decatur: $7,500
- Gate City Day Nursery Association, Atlanta: $5,000
- Jewish Family & Career Services, Inc., Atlanta: $7,500
The foundation announced the donation of 70 grants totaling $431,000 to different nonprofit organizations whose goals are to help improve the lives of local residents in the areas surrounding BJ’s Wholesale Clubs. The funds focus on four main areas: health care, education, hunger prevention and self-sufficiency.
“We take pride in being able to give back through our Foundation,” said Jessica Newman, executive director for the BJ’s Charitable Organization. “It's an important part of our company's culture to support local non-profit organizations with programs that touch so many people in the communities we serve."
