Volunteers Needed to Clean Up Druid Hills Middle Cross Country Track

The volunteer event takes place Saturday, 1-6 p.m. at the school.

Volunteers are needed to help clean up the cross country track at Druid Hills Middle School.

From Druid Hills Middle School:

The Druid Hills Athletic Association in conjunction with the DHMS PTSA, DHHS PTSA, LR PTSA,  DHHS Varsity/JV Cross Country teams, DHMS and Laurel Ridge running clubs and neighbors are coming together on Saturday, Aug. 24 to make improvements to  the Cross Country course located at Druid Hills Middle School.

This course is the location of several DeKalb county-wide cross-country meets as well as the Regional Championships, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 2.

Date & Time:

·Saturday, Aug 24 from 1-6 p.m.  (no need to come for all five hours but please come for an hour or two...)

What we are going to do: 

·Improve the cross-country course, making it safer for student-athletes, neighbors, etc who walk/run the trails in this area.

·Remove all the rotting and downed pine trees in this area, as well as the area near the school 

·Pick up and clean up any trash

· Mark any roots that could cause a runner to trip

· Identify other requirements that could be worked on for a future work day

Volunteers needed:

·40-50 people - parents, students, teachers, neighbors

What to bring:  

·You and your gloves (that's it!) 

Why volunteer:

·Get out and make a difference. It feels good.
