Black Friday Store Hours

If you're a big fan of Black Friday shopping and a night owl--or someone who can readjust their sleeping schedule for a night in the name of savings--then 2011 is the year for you. Many big retailers in the area have shifted their opening times to midnight or even earlier. Here is a list, sorted by opening time, of when stores will welcome eager shoppers on the day after Thanksgiving. Many store websites have information about their sales, as do independent websites like Gotta Deal.

9 p.m. Thanksgiving night

Toys R Us (4033 Lavista Road, Tucker; 770-938-4321) is the earliest retailer in the area to open on Black Friday--or, technically, Thanksgiving night.

Midnight

Target (2400 North Druid Hills Road, Atlanta; 404-267-0060) begins its special two-day sale at a new earlier start time of midnight. 

Macy's (locations in both North DeKalb and Northlake Malls) opens at midnight, separately from their malls.

Kohl's (4820 Briarcliff Road, Atlanta; 770-270-1201) will start offering deals at midnight, also separately from Northlake Mall.

Gamestop (2955 North Druid Hills Road, Atlanta; 404-633-2900) starts offering video game deals at midnight.

Best Buy (4145 Lavista Road, Tucker; 770-939-7660) has called its decision to open at midnight historic.

4 am

Northlake Mall will open at 4 am, although its Macy's and Kohl's will be open earlier.

Sears (2201 Henderson Mill Road, Atlanta; 770-493-3210) begins offering deals on clothes, appliances, tools and more at 4 am.

5 am

Michaels (4000 Lavista Road, Tucker; 678-280-1012) opens at 5 am for the crafty folks among us.

Sam's Club (2901-A Clairmont Road, Atlanta; 404-325-4000) will have a special members' only event beginning at 5 am.

Sports Authority (3200 Northlake Parkway, Atlanta; 770-270-1644) has deals for athletes and the outdoorsy starting at 5 am.

5:30 am

Radio Shack (2907 North Druid Hills Road, Atlanta; 404-633-1007) serves up hot gadgets and gizmos at 5:30 am.

6 am

The office supply stores, Office Depot (2915 North Druid Hills Road, Atlanta; 404-329-8511) and Office Max (2478 Briarcliff Road, Atlanta; 404-417-9977), both open at 6 am.

Pier 1 (3795 North Druid Hills Road, Decatur; 404-636-1690) helps deck the halls starting at 6 am.

7 am

TJ Maxx (2146 Henderson Mill Road, Atlanta; 770-491-6076) brings designer duds and other deals at 7 am.

9 am

North DeKalb Mall (2050 Lawrenceville Highway, Decatur; 404-320-7960) opens at 9 am, except its Macy's opens at midnight.

REI (1800 Northeast Expressway, Atlanta; 404-633-6508) gives outdoorsy folks a chance to maybe sleep in a bit before opening at 9 am.
