Lakeside Lacrosse Player Recognized

John Dempsey is recognized by the Georgia Lacrosse Officials Association with the Ron Mallonee award for the 2012 season.

The Georgia Lacrosse Officials Association (GLOA) has recognized Junior John Dempsey with the Ron Mallonee award for the 2012 season. A veteran lacrosse official in Georgia, Ron was a Charter Member of the association who passed away in 2004 after a brief battle with cancer. In his memory, GLOA created the Ron Mallonee Award which is given annually to deserving high school boys who have a passion for the sport of lacrosse and a desire to improve.

The Ron Mallonee awards will be presented at the 2012 GHSA State Championship. (Game location and start time TBD.) John and his family will be guests of GLOA at one of the state championship games on Saturday, May 19. The awards will be presented at half-time on the championship field.

John is a first year player on the Lakeside Lacrosse team and a starting member of the varsity defensive unit.
