Stone Cold Day in North Druid Hills

It’s been rather cold here in our North Druid Hills-Briarcliff Patch area, and so too at Greenwood Cemetery in southwest Atlanta, where among the buried are synagogue founder and journalist, Frank Taffel, and singer-songwriter, Hank Ballard.

It will remain quiet and cold again Tuesday at the century-plus-old cemetery, where morning temps remained well below freezing, recorded as 8 degrees shortly before 10 a.m. The wind chill made it feel like minus-8 degrees.

Dangers of frostbite and hypothermia continue as the wind chill advisory continues until 1 p.m. today. The temperature in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area won't reach 20 until 1 p.m. according to The Weather Channel, and even then it will feel like 10 degrees.
