Series of Car Break-Ins Reported in Henderson Mill Area

Many items stolen from Cravey Drive car
A woman who lives on the 2400 block of Cravey Drive had her car broken into, and many items, including Christmas gifts, were stolen Dec. 20, DeKalb County police said.

The woman said that between 8pm Dec. 19 and 10am the next day, someone broke the passenger rear window of her car as it sat in her driveway. The person then took her groceries, a purse and gifts. The gifts included candy, cookies and cheese and salami plates. The purse contained a credit card, driver’s license, military ID card and Medicare card. Her credit card was used to make unauthorized charges at an unknown location.

Car burglarized on Whiteleigh Drive
A woman who lives on the 2500 block of Whiteleigh Drive reported that her car was broken into Dec. 20, police said.

The woman said that between midnight and 6am, someone unscrewed the motion sensor bulb on her garage door, entered the garage and broke into her unlocked car, taking $10.

Car window smashed on Tall Pines Way
A woman who lives on the 2900 block of Tall Pines Way said her car was broken into on Dec. 20, police said.

The woman said that between 11:30pm Dec. 19 and 8:20am the next day, someone smashed her passenger side front window to enter her car, which was parked in her driveway. They took her tote bag, which was sitting in her passenger seat and contained a Kindle e-book reader.

Car broken into on Briarcliff Commons
A priest who lives on the 2300 block of Briarcliff Commons said his car was broken into on Dec. 20, police said.

He parked his car in the driveway at 9pm Dec. 19 and returned at 9am Dec. 20. Upon his return, he saw that the front passenger window was broken and his briefcase was stolen. Inside his briefcase were two priest’s robes, a gold cross with three stones, a silver communion kit and various books.

Car robbery on Briarcrest Trail
A woman who lives on the 2300 block of Briarcrest Trail had her car broken into Dec. 20, police said.

The woman said her car was parked on the street beside her house between 11:30pm Dec. 19 and 8am Dec. 20. Her car, which she said was unlocked, was broken into and an American Eagle sweatshirt and iPad were taken.

Car burglarized on Bry Mar Drive
A woman who lives on 2300 block of Bry Mar Drive had her car burglarized on Dec. 20, police said.

The woman said her vehicle was left unlocked and someone took a black case, keys and a U.S. courts ID card from a side console on the left side of her dashboard.
