A man who was carjacked at gunpoint in Decatur last week – part of a small wave of armed robberies throughout the city – said he was pursued by the robbers from Toco Hill Shopping Center.

The man told Decatur police he left the shopping center and was followed by the carjackers into Decatur where the incident occurred at about 3:30 a.m. Friday, according to Atlanta INtown.

From the report:

The carjacking victim, a 24-year-old male, told police he was followed by a blue Ford Taurus sedan from Toco Hills shopping center. While the victim was traveling southbound on Sycamore Drive, the Taurus began blowing its horn and then pulled along side at the intersection of Sycamore and Grove. The victim said the front seat passenger of the Taurus rolled her window down and asked for directions. While the victim was giving directions, he noticed an African American male standing beside his vehicle, holding what appeared to be a shotgun. The male suspect demanded the victim exit his vehicle and lay on the ground.
