A selection of recent crimes in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff community reported to DeKalb County police.

About $5K in jewelry robbed from Wendland Drive home
Roughly $5,000 in jewelry was stolen from a Wendland Drive home near Oak Grove recently, DeKalb County police said.

The homeowners said they were out of town for a week and returned to their home in the 2800 block of Wendland Drive on Sunday, the police report said. The woman's clothes were tossed on the floor, and the jewelry was stolen fromΒ  eyeglass cases in the bedroom dresser.

They also noticed the rear French glass door to the home was pried open near the knob.

Man's wallet stolen from North Druid Hills gym
A Decatur man told DeKalb County police someone stole his wallet from his locker at a North Druid Hills gym while he was working out Tuesday afternoon.

The man, 35, said he locked his wallet in a locker at at 2880 North Druid Hills Rd. at about 11:40am, the police report said. He discovered the lock was gone and the wallet was stolen when he returned at about 12:30pm. There are no security cameras posted nearby.

Oak Grove man: Kids egged my cars
An Oak Grove man told DeKalb County police that kids egged two of his cars parked at home this week.

The man, who lives in the 2400 block of Massey Lane, said the crime occurred between 9pm Wednesday and 7:22am Thursday, the police report said. He said he figured kids in the community were the culprits.
