Man robbed of cash at gunpoint in apartment complex
A 42-year-old man said he was robbed at gunpoint for $60 and assaulted in an apartment complex off Buford Highway early Sunday morning, Dekalb County police said.

The man said he was visiting a friend at the Huntington Creek apartment complex in the 2200 block of Plaster Road at about 3:20am, the police report said. Two men approached him as he was getting out of his car: one carrying a handgun, the other a knife. The man carrying the gun demanded his money and struck him several times in the face and the side of his head.

The suspects took $60, his keys and demanded his wallet, the report said. When the victim refused to give his wallet, the suspects fled the location on foot.

The victim declined medical attention.

Man robbed, assaulted at gunpoint on North Druid Hills Road
A 33-year-old man said he was robbed and assaulted at gunpoint while walking along North Druid Hills Road on June 25, police said.Β

The man said he was walking southbound in 1900 block of North Druid Hills Road at about 2:30am when he was approached by two men who pushed him off the sidewalk and pointed a black, automatic handgun at him, the police report said. The men knocked him down and demanded his money.

The men searched his pockets and, after finding no cash, struck him repeatedly with the gun, cutting the back of his head.

The victim was treated at the scene and taken to Atlanta Medical Center.

Group of boys surround teenagers, steal iPods
A 13-year-old boy told police a group of teens stole his iPod while he was skateboarding at on June 25, police said.

The teen told police that he and a friend were skateboarding at the mall at 9pm when a group of males surrounded him, the police report said. One of the males approached the victim and placed him in a headlock while the other males searched his pockets. They found his iPod and took it.

Then teen also said a second group of males surrounded his friend and took his iPod as well. The groups then held him and his friend at the mall until about midnight, the report said, until he and his friend saw an opportunity to get away and they ran behind the nearby to call the first victim's father.

No charges were filed, but the second victim was issued curfew violation citation and taken home.

Copper stolen from old Fuddruckers building in Northlake
Copper wiring was stolen from an old Fuddruckers restaurant in Northlake on Tuesday evening, police said.Β 

An off-duty officer was in the Northlake Festival shopping center in the 3900 block of Lavista Rd. when he noticed a side door on the restaurant building's patio was forced open at about 8:15pm, the police report said. Two panes of window glass were also broken.

He went into the building and discovered an unknown amount of copper wiring had been taken from several breaker panels throughout the building. The thief had also cut the lock off the Georgia Power transformer box that near the restaurant and stripped the copper service line that fed into it.
