A selection of crimes in our area reported to DeKalb County police.

Forced entry on Rosalin Drive

On November 4, a house on the 1700 block of Rosalin Drive was broken into and items were taken, DeKalb County police said.

An officer arrived at about 11:04 am, responding to an alarm call, and noticed damage to the rear door of the house. No one was found inside the house. The victim said he had left the house at about 7:25 am. Upon searching, the following items were found missing: a flat-screen TV worth approximately $250 and a digital camera worth approximately $900.

Repeated break-in attempts at Siemens

On November 7, the Siemens location at 3496 Montreal Industrial Way was the site of an attempted break-in, police said.

An employee at Siemens noticed, around 2:46 pm, that unknown suspects attempted to break the rear metal wall at the location. The suspects had removed some screws from the wall but were unsuccessful in entering. The employee said that a similar incident happened a few months ago and that he would check surveillance videos to get further information.

Armed robbery outside Arby’s

An (2382 North Druid Hills Road) employee on his way to a cash drop was robbed at knifepoint on November 7, police said.

The employee was leaving the restaurant at 10:19 am with the cash ($1,374). When he stepped outside, an unknown black male wearing a black shirt, black skull cap and black jeans approached him. He held a 12-inch knife out to the employee’s waist and said “give up the money.” The employee did so and the man took off running to the back of the restaurant. No injuries were reported and the restaurant has no surveillance cameras.

Conservatory burglary

A burglary was reported at the (3447 North Druid Hills Road) on November 8, police said.

A resident of the Conservatory said that between 7:20 and 10:30 am, he was sleeping in his bedroom. When he woke up, he saw that someone had broken his front door and stolen his wallet, which was on a table near the door. The wallet contained his driver’s license and a Bank of America credit card.
