Crime Blotter, Sept. 9-11

A selection of crimes in our area reported to DeKalb County police.

Robbery at knifepoint at Lake Louise Apartments
Two young men who were visiting a friend at Lake Louise Apartments, 3201 Henderson Mill Rd., were robbed at knifepoint by two male suspects Sept. 9, DeKalb County police said.

The two men were visiting their friend around 9pm, but the friend wasn’t home, so the two victims were walking away when the suspects approached. The suspects had been hiding in a dark area along a tree line in the complex. The first suspect held a knife up to the second victim and said both of them should put their belongings on the ground, which they did. One of the suspects said “get out of my neighborhood” during the incident. The two suspects then ran off and police were able to recover one of the victims’ gold chain necklaces.

Items stolen included a black Samsung cell phone, $2 cash from each victim, a black wallet and a state and ID card from one victim.

The first suspect was described as a black male, about 5 feet 7 inches, thin build, 18 years old with short hair and a black bandanna covering his face from the nose down and armed with a knife. The second suspect was described as a black male, about 6 feet, thin build, possibly 17 years old with short hair, a green polo shirt and dark skinny jeans.

Whispering Hills Drive break-in
A man living on the 2900 block of Whispering Hills Drive came home to discover his home had been broken into Sept. 11, police said.

The man had left his house at about 8pm and returned at 12:30am to discover his side door window was shattered, and the side door was open. He told police he couldn't find anything missing. The house is currently under renovation.

Citadel Drive burglary
A woman living on the 1200 block of Citadel Drive was burglarized Sept. 9, police said.

The woman left around 11am to run errands, came home at 3:15pm and noticed her home had been burglarized. She said she’d locked and secured all her doors. The screen on her porch door was cut and police believe the suspect entered through a rear bedroom window. All the drawers and doors in the home were also opened.

Items stolen were a 32-inch Samsung TV, a 26-inch Samsung TV, an iPod Nano and a Bose iPod docking system.

Attack and robbery near South Beach Bistro
A man who told police he was beaten and mugged on Northlake Parkway was found bloodied and struggling on Lavista Road on Sept. 9, police said.

The man told police he was walking away from South Beach Bistro (now Major League Grille), located on Northlake Parkway, when he was attacked by a man. Two others pulled up beside him in a white vehicle. The passenger jumped out and assaulted him too. The victim was hit in the face and fell to the ground. The suspect took his cell phone and wallet and kicked him in the stomach.

When the officer discovered the victim, he was bleeding from the head and holding his stomach. The victim was taken to for treatment.

The first suspect was described as a black male, 5 feet 9 inches, wearing a white jacket. He drove a white, four-door vehicle. The second suspect was described as a skinny black male with lots of tattoos on his neck and chest, wearing a tan shirt.
