DeKalb Schedules Upcoming Police Academies

DeKalb County Police Department is looking to hire some 80 new officers before the end of the year and has held at least three job fairs in the last two weeks.

The department would also like to hire an additional 160 to its force within the next three years and has scheduled police academies to train new officers.

11/18/2013: 98th DeKalb County Police Academy Begins
12/16/2013: 99th DeKalb County Police Academy Begins

SALARY AND BENEFITS

• Annual Salary: $36,852 - $59,304
• Vacation: 15 paid vacation days per year
• Holidays: 10 paid holidays per year
• Sick Leave: 13 paid sick days per year

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 20 years of age, a citizen of the United Stated and possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s license. Applicants must successfully complete a thorough background investigation. 

CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICERS
We are also seeking certified police officers who wish to join our ranks. Georgia POST certified officers and out of state police officers will have the opportunity to join our department with training through an abbreviated police academy.

$1,000 Bonus (with two years qualified experience)
Abbreviated Police Academy (based on prior experience)
