Police: Woman Raped Near Emory Village

The late Tuesday night incident reportedly occurred in a wooded area between Oxford Road and Dowman Drive.

According to the Emory University Police Department, a woman reported to authorities that she was raped late Tuesday night near the Emory Village traffic circle.

In an alert sent out by the department, police say the victim stated the crime occurred around 11:15 p.m. in a wooded area between Oxford Road and Dowman Drive.

The alert described the perpetrator as a white male in his mid-to-late 50s, standing 5-foot-10, and with a reddish or brown beard. He was described as wearing a brown or green beanie cap, a tan or brown jacket, dark blue jeans, and brown boots.

He was reportedly last seen running from the campus grounds toward the Emory Village.
