Festival Proceeds Donated to Police Alliance

$10,000 raised at International Food and Music Festival.

Proceeds from the third annual DeKalb International Food and Music Festival were donated to the DeKalb Police Alliance in ceremonies Tuesday, Commissioner Stan Watson announced.

On behalf of law enforcement agencies within the county, the DeKalb Police Alliance accepted a $10,000 check from proceeds of the festival, which took place Oct. 19 at Northlake Mall. This money will assist in paying the annual life insurance premium policy.Β

Watson said $30,000 has been donated to the alliance in the three years of the festival, with help from the sponsors.
