Man Robs Shamrock Plaza SunTrust Bank

A teller at the SunTrust bank inside the Publix at Shamrock Plaza was robbed Sept. 16.

A teller at the inside the Publix at Shamrock Plaza, 3870 North Druid Hills Road, was robbed Sept. 16, DeKalb County police said.

The suspect got in line at the bank at about 4:15pm. When he was called to the teller window, he pretended to get a call on his phone and stepped out of line. He loitered around the bank, which was captured on video, for a little while and got back in line.

He remained on his phone when he got to the teller window, passing the teller a deposit slip that said, “Give me all your cash. I have a gun.”

The suspect also said repeatedly, “Just do it, just do it.” The teller complied and tried to set off the silent alarm, but when the suspect saw that happening, he said, “Don’t do it. I will shoot you.”

Before he left, the suspect asked for his deposit slip back and took off with the money.

The teller gave the suspect’s description as a black male, medium- to dark-skinned, about 6 feet tall, about 175 to 200 pounds, with a slim to muscular build, an untrimmed beard, short curly hair and a gap between his two front teeth. He wore a black baseball cap, a long-sleeved black shirt, light grey sweat pants and black tennis shoes with a shiny silver design.

A few hours later, another police officer noticed a man fitting the suspect’s description walking on Lawrenceville Highway near McLendon Road. However, there is no further information.
