North Police Precinct Opens Up to Residents on Facebook, Twitter

The DeKalb County Police Department's North Precinct, which serves the North Druid Hills area, includes occasional updates on public safety-related news.

The DeKalb County Police Department's North Precinct, which serves the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area, now has a growing presence on Facebook and Twitter.

At the time of publication of this article, the precinct's Facebook page reached 72 likes, or the number of Facebook users who added the page to their list of favorite pages. The page features the North Precinct's supervisor of the month, a photo of what appears to be the confiscation of an illegal firearm and drugs and an announcement highlighting National Night Out.

Al Fowler, North Precinct's community education office, forwarded the announcement of precincts new social media presence to local civic groups encouraging them to sign on as well as the precinct's new Twitter page which has three followers.
