was locked down early Friday afternoon in response to a reported home invasion near the school.
Walter Woods, communications director for the DeKalb County Board of Education, also said that was locked down in the early afternoon as well.
Both schools were on lockdown for about five minutes, Woods said.
Public information officials for the DeKalb County Police Department were unable to confirm the incident. However, the DeKalb County Schools Police Department confirmed that Oak Grove was locked down early Friday afternoon. The department did not confirm that Lakeside was locked down.
The DeKalb County Police Department's 911 call center confirmed to Patch that eight units were dispatched at 1:43 pm to a home invasion reported at 1759 N. Akin Drive.
