A man has been arrested for reportedly using samurai swords to fatally stab his parents in what the DeKalb County Police Chief describes as a “horrific” crime.
The attacks happened at a home on the 3000 block of Pheasant Drive, report WSB TV. According to police, the suspect is the couple’s 39-year-old son, Calvin Ray Jr.
“It’s a pretty horrific scene inside,” DeKalb police Chief Cedric Alexander told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Investigators said the victims were 73 and 75 years old.
A family member who stopped by to visit the married couple found the victims dead in their bedroom around 4 p.m. Thursday. The two may have been dead for several hours, Alexander said.
Ray allegedly left the home in a family vehicle, and was later taken into custody, without incident, at nearby Chapel Hill Park, according to police.
The swords believed to be the murder weapons were found inside the home, Alexander said.
