Police Respond to Burglaries in Henderson Mill Area

Four burglaries occurred in the community Feb. 13-14, DeKalb County police said.

DeKalb County police responded to four burglaries over two days last week in the Henderson Mill area.

  • Feb. 13 between 8am and 3:40pm: A 41-year-old woman left her apartment in the Lake Louise apartment complex, 3201 Henderson Mill Rd., at 8am, the police report said. When she returned at 3:40pm, the door was locked and there were no signs of forced entry. But when she walked inside, things were scattered on the floor of each room and more than $2,200 worth of items, including a 32-inch TV and more than $1,200 in Xbox games, were stolen.
  • Feb. 13 between 8:45am and 6pm: A 43-year-old woman left her apartment at The Crossing at Henderson Mill, 3270 Lansbury Village Dr., at about 8:45am, the police report said. When she returned at 6pm, some of her belongings were disturbed or missing. A police officer noticed pry marks under the lock hatches under the kitchen window, and the blinds were up. More than $5,000 worth of items were stolen, including $2,500 worth of jewelry, $1,400 worth of Nintendo Wii video games and a 32-inch TV.
  • Feb. 13 between 11am and 7:41pm: A 25-year-old man also left his Crossing at Henderson Mill apartment at about 11am, the police report said. When he returned at 7:41pm, he noticed several items were missing. A police officer also noted pry marks near the locks of a bedroom window and believes the burglary is related to the other aforementioned Crossing at Henderson Mill burglary. A screwdriver used to gain entry was left at the scene, the report said. Nearly $4,000 worth of items, including a 46-inch TV, a Macbook laptop and about $500 worth of jewelry.
  • Feb. 14 between 8am and 10am: A 25-year-old woman and her fiance left her apartment in the Park Pointe North apartment complex, 3101 Flowers Rd., at about 8am, the police report said. When the fiance returned at about 10am, he noticed the front door was pried and items were missing from the home. Nearly $3,000 worth of items were stolen, including a 40-inch TV, a laptop computer, an iPhone and $500 in jewelry.
