Two Waffle Houses Robbed By Same Suspects?

An officer responding to the first restaurant robbery listened to the second take place on the other side of the community – and suspect descriptions in both crimes matched, police said.

Two Waffle House restaurants in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area were robbed Oct. 19, possibly by the same suspects, DeKalb County police said.

A woman working behind the counter at the at 2886 Clairmont Rd. heard the front door open at about 8:20pm, looked up and saw two of three suspects enter, according to the police report. The first suspect pointed a black semiautomatic pistol at the woman and said, "Open the register or I’m going to blow your [expletive] white head off!"

The woman attempted to open the register but said she was nervous and struggled.

"Open the register or I’m going to [expletive] kill you!" the suspect said.

The woman opened the register, and the second suspect reached over and took the money. The suspects left the restaurant, got into a small blue or green four-door vehicle–possibly a Honda–with the Georgia license plate BSM-751 and a front left tire without a hubcap. They headed south.
