Police Warn of New Georgia Power Scam

DeKalb Police are warning about a new scam to steal money from Georgia Power customers, both residential and commercial.

So far, 70 customers have been scammed by Georgia Power imposters who call with threats of disconnection if the customers do not pay over the phone with a "Green Dot" or other type of gift card.

According to a Facebook post from the DeKalb County Center Precinct, "Once the card numbers are given, the caller and the customer's money are gone.

Don't be a victim! Please call us at 888-660-5890 (800-253-1077 en Español), or local police, if you receive any such call."
