Underage Alcohol Sting Nets 47 Arrests

Operation Schools Out targeted underage alcohol sales at more than 150 liquor stores and gas stations in unincorporated DeKalb County.

The DeKalb County Police Department made 47 arrests during a recent underage alcohol sting.Β 

Operation Schools Out was a four-day enforcement effort by the DeKalb County Uniform Division and the Georgia Department of Revenue. The initiative was designed to combat the illegal sales of alcoholic beverages to minors at businesses throughout the unincorporated areas of DeKalb County.

Between May 19 and May 26, more than 150 liquor stores and gas stations were checked for compliance. Forty-seven people were found in violation, arrested and charged with furnishing alcohol to minors.

In addition, 8 people were arrested during this sting for selling tobacco products to individuals under the age of 18.
