With Hour-Long Window, Thief Breaks Into North Briarcliff Home

"The house was secure; someone had to have been watching and waiting for the homeowner to leave," the neighborhood association told members Monday.

The North Briarcliff Civic Association sent the following notice out to residents this morning regarding a burglary Sunday:

A house in the 2500 Block of Brookdale Drive was broken into  last night/Sunday between 6:30-7:30 p.m.  The homeowner was away from home just that hour. The thief broke a pane on a window in the back of the house, lifted the window, entered the house and took a television and printer and scattered some things around.  The house was secure; someone had to have been watching and waiting for the homeowner to leave. The police responded quickly and will of course do their best to catch whoever did this.

All, we just had a similar type of thing happen in the last two weeks in the 2400 block of Brookdale, but the residents’ alarm scared off the intruders – but only after they broke a back window.
