DeKalb Police Hosting 'Beat the Badge' Run

Proceeds from the 5K event in Northlake will benefit the DeKalb Police Alliance.

The DeKalb County Police Department is hosting the second annual Beat the Badge 5K Run on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 9am.Β 

Registration starts at 7:30am and costs $25 ($15 for kids 12 and under) or participants can register online.

The starting point of the run, which is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier, will be at DeKalb County Police Headquarters at 1960 West Exchange Place in Tucker.

All proceeds from the event benefit the DeKalb Police Alliance, which provides life insurance for officers and support for families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.

A post-race celebration will feature a display from county police departments, including the SWAT mobile command unit, the bomb squad, the helicopter unit, the K-9 unit, the motorcycle unit, police cars, fire trucks and ambulances. There will also be food, music and games.
