Put Your Spare Shoes to Good Use

DeKalb County is collecting shoes in good condition through Feb. 29 for Soles4Souls, a charity. North Druid Hills residents can drop them off at Mason Mill Center.

Got a spare pair of shoes you don't need?

Let someone put them to good use. DeKalb County is collecting shoes in good condition for Soles4Souls, a Tennessee-based charity that collects shoes and gives them to people in need across the world. It collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of individuals.

Once shoes are gathered, they are distributed to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class or other criteria. Soles4Souls has delivered more than 16 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes across the world since 2005.

All types and sizes of shoes in good condition will be accepted. Residents are asked to tie each pair of donated shoes together. The county will take donations through Feb. 29.
