Parent Information and Planning Session

Please join in for a Parent Information and Planning Session to discuss budget cuts to DeKalb County's special education program, to receive information on navigating the IEP process in the face of staff and budget cuts, and to discuss ways to stop the potential loss of services to special needs children.

The new approved budget includes:

  • $10 million in special education cuts by adding 2 students to every classroom, resulting in the termination of 170 special education teachers. 
  • $7 million by reducing 200 para positions.
