Prevent Now Community Awareness Breakfast - Free
Child sexual abuse affects every part of our society. Research shows that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused before the age of 18. Research has also linked sexual abuse with almost every societal problem we face. While intervention and treatment services are critical, ending child sexual abuse is only possible through prevention. The Penn State and Syracuse cases have highlighted the need for strong policies and prevention training for youth-serving organizations as well as for parents.
Join the DeKalb & Fulton Child Abuse Prevention Coalition for a free breakfast and a powerful presentation demonstrating the magnitude of the issue of child sexual abuse, its economic cost to our community, the emotional impact and what the community is doing about it.
This event is free but a reservation is required. It is appropriate for parents or anyone in a profession that serves children. Please RSVP to Willa Boswell at (678) 904-2880 x205 or prevention@gacfca.org. Georgia Center for Child Advocacy
