IHM Fifth-Graders Awarded Grant for Eco-Friendly Field Trip

Target gave the school the $700 grant that will allow the class to visit the Tellus Museum in Cartersville.

received a $700 field trip grant from Target which will allow the entire fifth grade to visit the Tellus Museum in Cartersville.

Michelle Edwards, a fifth grade teacher at the school, believes the next great innovator in alternative energy may be right here in our midst. This grant will allow the budding scientists to explore bio-fuels and solar energy and to learn to become stewards of our planet's resources.

Immaculate Heart of Mary students will participate in the Farming for Fuel program at the museum that includes the "Stars" planetarium show, a tour of the Solar Decathlon House, lab explorations and the Science in Motion exhibit. Each student will receive a grass terrarium to take home to continue their exploration of green energy.
