Immaculate Heart of Mary Students Perform Random Act of Kindness on Birthday

Several second grade students who share the same birthday asked friends to donate books to the school's library.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School's second grade students Annalise O’Connell, Bailey Apgar and Sofia Arboleda all share the same birthday, so they decided to share the same party as well. But instead of receiving personal gifts, they asked friends to bring an item that could benefit the school library. The girls presented three laundry baskets filled with books and accelerated reading prizes to Sandy Wilson, the school's librarian.

The girls were inspired by a story they were told about a young girl, Maggie Lee Henson, whose family honors her life each October (her birthday month) with random acts of kindness.

Mrs. Wilson said she was overjoyed by the generosity of the Annalise, Bailey and Sofia.
