Lakeside High AP Exams to Be Taken at Mercer University

The separate venue will allow students to take their tests without distraction, a school official said Friday.

Lakeside High School Assistant Principal Debbie Bell just sent this over:

The Georgia Department of Education is celebrating Advanced Placement Day in Georgia on Tuesday, February 8. In conjunction with this celebration, Lakeside High School is pleased to announce an important agreement with Mercer University.

This year all of Lakeside’s Advanced Placement exams will be administered on the Mercer University campus. As you may know, the Cecil B. Day campus of Mercer University is located just one exit north of Lakeside High School on I-85. The use of the college classrooms and auditoriums for testing will allow the AP students to concentrate on their exams without the routine distractions that are inherent at our high school campus. We are also pleased that our normal instructional routine at Lakeside will no longer be disrupted by the two week AP testing schedule.

On behalf of the 1,200 test-takers, the 22 AP teachers and the rest of the Lakeside High School community, we want to thank Dr. Swindle and Mercer University. We are fortunate to have the support of such a good neighbor and partner in education. Additional information will be provided at the upcoming Lakeside Advanced Placement Parents’ Night on February 28 at 7:00 p.m.
