New School Projects, Improvements for North Druid Hills?

The DeKalb County School System will release its draft list of SPLOST IV projects on May 27.

Could the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area see significant school improvements in the future?

The DeKalb County School System plans to release a draft list of projects for its penny sales tax increase proposal–also known as SPLOST IV–the school board will vote on in June. Here's a statement from the school system:

The DeKalb County School System will present its draft proposal for the ten year master facilities plan and the draft projects list for the SPLOST IV resolution to the Board of Education during a Committee of the Whole Meeting on May 27, 2011, at 9 a.m., at the Administrative & Instructional Complex, 1701 Mountain Industrial Boulevard, Stone Mountain, Georgia, 30083.

The public is invited to attend this meeting.  Questions and comments regarding the draft plans can be submitted via a survey located on the district’s website at http://www.dekalb.k12.ga.us/vision-2020/master-plan.  The survey will open on May 27 at noon and will be available until June 1 at midnight.

The DeKalb County Board of Education is expected to take a final vote on the SPLOST IV resolution on June 13, 2011.  The resolution presented for action will be a joint resolution consisting of projects from DeKalb County Schools, Atlanta Public Schools and Decatur City Schools that will appear on the November 2011 voting ballot for the SPLOST IV referendum.
