Parents Council to Hold Charter School Meeting
Town hall meeting set for Wednesday morning at Hawthorne Elementary.
The Emory LaVista Parent Council will host a “Charters, Choices, and Change” town hall meeting at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at Hawthorne Elementary School, 2535 Caladium Drive NE, Atlanta.
The DeKalb school board will consider a proposal to convert six DeKalb schools feeding into Druid Hills High School into a Druid Hills Charter Cluster, the first such cluster in the state. A petition vote was overwhelmingly approved to support the move on Aug. 13.
The council also serves schools feeding into Lakeside High School.
