Sophia Academy Gala Draws Largest Crowd, Nets More Than $60,000

The school was transformed into a casino with auctions, live music, dancing, a raffle and haute cuisine.

hosted its annual Masterpiece Gala at its own gym at 2880 Dresden Dr. on Feb. 11. The space was transformed as a casino with auctions, live music, dancing, haute cuisine and a split-the-pot raffle, raising funds for the school's gym campaign and aΒ $500,000 challenge grant from a Friend of Sophia Academy. The evening also included a visit by the University of Georgia's Hairy Dawg. Janet and Josh Harrison contributed as the lead sponsor.

Success of the night included 240 guests and food and drink donated by Atlanta Bread Co. (Basil and Elena Couvaras), Peter and Yuwadee Landskroener and Michael and Jennifer Cerasoli. Endive Catering contributed as well.
