Sophia Academy Students Make Valentines for Soldiers

More than 120 cards were made and mailed to Afghanistan.

The fourth grade students of Sophia Academy recently led a school-wide service project to make and collect Valentine cards to send to soldiers overseas. Students from all grades participated in cutting out hearts, decorating them and signing them with notes of encouragement and thanks. This endeavor was part of the school’s focus on religious life and service to others. In all, students made 124 cards to send to the Duluth-based program Hugs for Soldiers, who mailed them to soldiers deployed in Afghanistan to be received in time for the holiday.
