St. Pius X Peer Program Receives National Attention

The school's Lion Leader Program was recently certified by the National Association of Peer Program Professionals.

St. Pius X Catholic High School is pleased to announce that the Lion Leader Program was recently designated as a Certified Peer Program by the National Association of Peer Program Professionals (NAPPP). St. Pius X is the first private school in Georgia, and just the second Catholic school in the United States, to receive this designation.

The Lion Leader Program was started seven years ago to create a positive high school experience for incoming students by fostering relationships with selected senior leaders of St. Pius X. Lion Leaders are senior students who applied and were selected by the Lion Leader Advisory Board to participate in the program. They are outgoing individuals, who model Catholic virtues including honesty, integrity and a sense of community.

“Over the past seven years, not only have the Lion Leaders helped St. Pius X's freshmen students transition into the school community, but their suggestions and ideas have positively impacted the program's development,” said Sue Reynolds, Lion Leader program coordinator and certified peer program educator. “Without their input and collaborative effort, the NAPPP certification would not have been possible.”
