Did you know that Druid Hills Youth Sports is celebrating 50 years of great baseball in DeKalb County?  On Friday April 13, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm we will hold our Spring 2012 opening Day Ceremonies and also celebrate our 50th Anniversary at Medlock Park.  We are looking for all former DHYS players, coaches, families & Board members to come out and celebrate with us that Friday night.  We will have a live band, BBQ, a home run derby, lots of events for the kids, and several State and County dignitaries in attendance.  You can even try to drop the current Board of Directors President in a dunk tank!

In order to make this a successful night we need your help –

We are looking for ways to reach out to as many former DHYS members as possible.  We would like to honor those that came before us that made this event possible.  If you have their contact information, please send it to me or forward this email to them.

If you haven't been out to the park in a while, come on out to see what we've done in the past few years.  DHYS has installed two new batting cages, erected dedicated bullpens at all upper division fields, renovated all four bathrooms, installed three new scoreboards, and for our 50th anniversary gift to the community – we will erect a new 850 sf picnic pavilion.  Construction for that started this weekend with the demolition of the ancient 400-sf pavilion.

We look forward to seeing you and your family on April 13th!
