Lakeside Softball Players Selected to All-Region First Team

This just in from Susan Blackstock, booster club president for the softball team:

Lakeside senior Susanne Boden and juniors Aubrey Blackstock and Marie Collop were again selected for the All-Region 6-AAAA softball First Team. All three were selected for the first-team during 2010 as well. At a recent end-of-season awards banquet, Susanne was awarded the Viking Award for academic and athletic proweress.  Marie received the MVP award and Aubrey received the Coach's Award. 

In addition to playing high school ball for the Lady Vikings, Susanne currently plays for the 18U Lynx. Marie plays for 18-U Team Georgia and Aubrey plays for 16U-GA Xtreme. All three hope to play softball in college.

Lakeside High's varsity softball team lost only one game during the regular season, was the Region 6-AAAA runner-up and made it to the first round of the GHSA state tournament.
