Leslie Beach Club Takes Fall Championship

The club won 3-2 over Lost Mountain of West Cobb County recently to take the championship.

The Leslie Beach Club is the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association level A-7 city champion for fall 2011. The 15-member team’s No. 1 (Wickham/Lioon), No. 4 (Zeliff/Probst) and No. 5 (Seif/Lyles) lines prevailed in an exciting 3-2 win over Lost Mountain of West Cobb. Leslie will now move to the A-5 level after three seasons at A-7.

The 40-year-old Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association is the largest city-wide team tennis league in the United States with more than 80,000 members in 13 counties. All association championships are played at DeKalb and Blackburn Tennis Centers.

Leslie Beach Club, founded in 1967, is a swim/tennis club located on Leslie Drive in the zone within walking distance of . The club currently has five "open" level teams (men and ladies, all ages); two "open" mixed-doubles teams; and two "super-senior" teams (men and women, age 55 and over). The teams allow a limited number of non-member players primarily for membership recruitment for residents in the membership area.

The club also offers four junior-level ALTA teams in the fall and spring seasons. The club has won four junior city championships and had three city finalists in the past four years.
