Leslie Beach Club Tennis Has Banner Year

The Henderson Mill club's wins include six divisions, three city finals and a city championship.

This year was very good for league team tennis at Leslie Beach Club.

LBC fielded a total of 10 teams playing in the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA), spring and fall seasons and one USTA league summer season team. LBC players ranged from “over 55s” to juniors and ended 2012 with all teams but two reaching at least one playoff spot each. The club, on Leslie Drive between Henderson Mill Elementary and Henderson Middle schools, took six division titles with three teams going to the city finals and one city championship.

Following a city championship the previous fall season (2011) for Men Open League A-7, spring 2012 saw the Over-55 Men B-1, Under 18 C-1 Girls and Under 12 C-4 Girls taking divisional wins with the men and U-12s playing for city championships. Fall season was one for the “dames," with the A-2 Women captained by Cindy Lyles winning a city championship. Accompanying the Open League A-2 championship was the Senior “Day” Women B-3 team placing second in the city and the Under 18 Girls B-1 winning their second consecutive division title.
