Silverbacks Win NASL Spring Season, Will Host November's Title Game in Atlanta

Going into the season, no one picked the Atlanta Silverbacks to finish even close to the top of the North American Soccer League standings. After tonight, the critics have been silenced.

The Silverbacks topped Minnesota United FC, 3-0, Thursday night at the NSC Stadium in Blaine, Minn., but still needed a loss by the league-leading Carolina RailHawks to clinch the title. That's exactly what happened, with the RailHawks falling, 2-0, to the San Antonio Scorpions, giving the Silverbacks the NASL Spring Season title in dramatic fashion. The Silverbacks will now host the Soccer Bowl, NASL's championship game, in November, presenting a huge opportunity to clinch the team's first ever league title.
