Sophia Academy Threepeat Champs in Fall Sports

After taking the Atlanta Private Athletic Conference soccer championship, the school also took the boys and girls volleyball titles as well.

On the heels of their recent soccer championship victory, the Sophia Academy Eagles again soared their way to the top in Boys’ and Girls’ Volleyball.

Both teams played for the tournament championship held at the school on Oct. 24, and both took the first place trophy for the Atlanta Private Athletic Conference. The girls defeated the Cottage School and boys defeated the Swift School in a set of three matches where they won the best of three. This was the third first-place victory for the teams within a week’s time, and students were elated with their achievement. Eighth grader Sebastian Gomez, whose championship wins now total five at Sophia Academy said, "We all played as a team, we played our best, and we never gave up. We just kept on going and we got to win! Thanks to Coach Harrington for helping us, training us, and teaching us."
