St. Pius Boys Fall Versus Westminster in Second Round of Lacrosse Playoffs
Golden Lions' season comes to an end at home against Westminster, 14-7
ends up on the wrong side of a 14-7 loss to Westminster in the second round of the 2011 GHSA AAAA-A state playoffs. The Golden Lions defeated Westminster early in the season 10-7, but could not stop the much improved Wildcats' team when it mattered most.
The match was close after one quarter of play, but the Wildcats outscored the Golden Lions 4-0 in the second period and lead 8-4 at halftime.
St. Pius would score the first two goals of the third period, but Westminster scored six of the next seven goals to put this match well out of reach.
