Fernbank Science Center Adds Planetarium Showtimes

The new show times include Saturday evenings.

Fernbank Science Center has added more daytime planetarium show times and some evening shows -- including on Saturdays -- which will use its newly-enhanced fulldome projector, the facility has announced.

Joyce Gamble, Administrative Coordinator at Fernbank Science Center, said in a press release: “With so many of the extra shows scheduled for Saturdays, we’re calling the new schedule 'Super Sized Saturdays.' We want Atlanta to know that this summer, we’re a great Saturday evening destination. We have found that people already know about the planetarium shows, and the fact that admission to the exhibit hall and garden area is free, but we haven’t been open Saturday nights in a long, long time, so we’re trying to build some awareness about this summer schedule.”

Here is the planetarium show schedule:

  • Mondays through Fridays, 11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, 2 PM, and 3 PM.
  • Thursday and Friday nights will include shows at 7 PM, 8 PM, and 9 PM
  • Saturday’s schedule will be 12 PM, 1 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM, 6 PM, and 7 PM

Gamble added that the daytime shows tend to be for younger audiences, while traditional astronomy shows will be presented in the afternoons and evenings.
