St. Pius Alums Crafted Team USA's Theme Song

Darrell and Howie Eversley and Shaun Spearman wrote "We Are," which now represents Team USA musically at the London Olympics.

More local connections to this summer's Olympic Games in London: the song you hear playing over clips of Team USA – that baby was written by graduates.

The song's writers, brothers Darrell and Howie Eversley and classmate Shaun Spearman, wrote the song, "We Are," were featured in a brief profile Wednesday on 11 Alive.

The trio was raised in metro Atlanta. Shaun and Darrell graduated from St. Pius High School in 2004; Howie finished four years later. They moved to Los Angeles in June 2012 to pursue producing full time.

The song was originally used as the theme song for the movie "Ice Age 4: Continental Drift." The men had no idea it had been selected as Team USA's theme song until theyΒ saw it last month in an online video.
